PRESIDENTS PRATTLE.
The playing season is done and dusted so time to relax , yeah?. WRONG!!! .
The committee have been working in the background.
So what else is happening you ask.

Presentation date has been set and locked in, but there is the AGM also. The following positions will become vacant. Vice Pres, Secretary, and 4 General Committee members. Thanks Nath, Cam, Loz, Kelsey,Moose & Butts for 2 years of service. Rumour has it that not all will stand for re-election, so it is time for some new blood. If you think you have what it takes, then please step up for the job. The jobs are not that hard and the remaining committee are there to help and guide you.

GROUND MAINTENANCE: The committee has been planning all year to install drainage and improve on the infield area after last years disaster with washouts. The date has been set for the weekend of Sat 23rd Sept & Sun 24th Sept, starting time to be advised. As this is a major working bee we need all able bodied players and supporters there to help. A trencher is being sourced and locked in to dig all the drainage trenches. We need to lay drainage pipe, geo fabric and backfill with gravel in the first day. We then need to spread a generous amount of sand across the entire infield area and level it up in preparation for resewing with grass. An update will be provided in the near future advising a start time and what you will need to bring to help with the works.

T-BALL: Kevin and the coaches have set a date for T-Ball to recommence again this spring. A 10 week program is due to start on WED 11th October from 5:30pm – till 7:30pm and will run through until 13th December. So pass the word around and invite all your friends. The comp is aimed mainly at primary aged children, but we shall accept under\over age children. We shall be advertising in the schools, FB, TeamApp and our webpage shortly. Also we will have player packs available for sale. Prices have not been set, but they will be heavily subsidised by the club. Packs will consist of Glove, ball, cap and T-Shirt all packed in to our Rangers backpacks. These will be extreme value for money and will be reasonably priced. Kevin will again be looking at coaching some of the older players with the view to entering sides in the Under 12 & 14 state championships next year.

SOFTBALL: The club is aiming to reintroduce a Softball competition again after a long absence from the district. A meeting is being called for WED 27th Sept at 7pm at the Targoora Clubrooms to gauge public interest and setup a competition. The aim is to have a woman’s comp, however, if we cant get enough numbers a mixed comp will be considered. .Initial thoughts are to run the competition on a Wed evening at the same time as T-Ball, but this is subject to change depending or general feedback. Please spread the word to all your old softball contacts or any new prospective players. We will be advertising the meeting in the next week or so.

COMMUNITY RAFFLE TICKETS: These are on sale by various members of the club. If you don’t have a ticket then ask one of the committee for one. Most of the funds are given back to the club, so this is a good fundraiser. For those that have ticket books: These need to be returned to Kevin either prior to or on presentation day. So get them sold and handed back.

GENERAL WORKING BEES: It may be the off season but the grass continues to grow and repairs \ upkeep is ongoing. Working Bees will be advised as required. Please make yourself available for some of these.
